This chapter gives you a brief introduction to some of the tools and skills that are required for creating assets for games. If you are lucky, you can specialize in one piece of the development, but it is always advisable to have at least a basic understanding and appreciation of how all the different pieces work together. You will need to work to balance all of the different components that comprise your game, not only in the amount of time that is required to build, but striking the correct balance where no one piece of the game overwhelms any other component.
