So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
As explained previously, mobiles with even MINs listen to one of the data words, and those with
odd MINs listen to the other.
When a call attempt is directed to the mobile, the paging signal is set more than once. It is actually
repeated after several seconds in case the mobile was temporarily in an RF ‘hole’ or otherwise
unable to receive the first page. The time interval between pages is short to minimize the
ringing delay experienced by the originator of the call.
Once received, the mobile responds to the page using the RECC. It then awaits the network
assigning it a pair of traffic channels. The mobile response is also repeated, in case the initial
response collided with another mobile on the reverse control channel or the message does not
succeed ...
