I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Fast call set-up
With any cellular communications system, call set-up can take a while. For CDMA2000, it can take
up to 12 seconds under worst-case scenarios. This length of time is unacceptable for applications
such as Push to talk over Cellular (PoC). Much of the delay arises from the procedures that have to
be undertaken. A call set-up can be split into three stages: paging, access, and channel set-up and
service negotiation.
To reduce the time for fast call set-up, a number of measures have been taken. The first is to reduce
the paging delay. When an application such as PoC is encountered, the mobile may enter a
reduced slotted or a non-slotted mode for a period of time. This decreases the time between paging
slots, and may reduce the paging
