To enable the PN sequence rate to be reduced to 19.2 ksps, it is decimated by a ratio of 64:1
and multiplied with the interleaved data. Additionally, power control bits at a rate of 800 bps
are multiplexed with the scra mbled data.
The next stage in the process is for the data stream in the forward traffic channel to be spread
using a Walsh code. Each forward traffic channel is spread using a different Walsh code, and in
this way it can be identified and separated in the receiver. This may be W8 to 31, or W33 to 63.
W2 to W7 may also be used if they are not being used as paging channels.
With the Walsh code chip rate of 1.2288 Mcps; each symbol is spread by a factor of sixty-four
and the result is a spread data stream at a rate of 1.2288 Mcps. The ...
