Handoff
One of the advantages of CDMA systems is associated with handoff. As a result of the fact that the
same frequency is used for adjacent cells, mobiles are able to receive signals from more than one
base station at the same time. Normally they would reject all but the signal from the wanted base
station as part of the decoding process. However, the ability to receive more than one signal is
advantageous when handing off from one cell to the next. During the handoff process, the two
