When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The mobile is provided with information detail ing channels where it might look for other local base
stations. This information is contained within a message called the Measurement Order, and it
contains six or twelve differe nt channels where the mobile may look.
While th e mobile is undertaking a call, it is able to monitor the signal strength and BER from
the signals surrounding base stations with the information provided from the measurement order.
As the system uses TDMA, the mobile is able to undertake the measurements during the time when
it is not transmitting or receiving. The results of these measurements (BER and RSSI – Received
Signal Strength Indication) are returned to the base station as a Channel Quality message using the
SACCH.
