I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Adding visual effects to our game
Our game already has a Directional light and, as discussed earlier in this chapter, it acts like the sun—shining light from high above our terrain. The shadows from our Cucumber Man, Cucumber Beetles, cherries, cherry trees, and cucumber patches can be seen on the grass. We do not need to make any changes to them.
The visual effects changes we will make in this section are:
- Adding a Point light to our cherry trees
- Adding a special effect using the Particle System
