A Trail Renderer is a visual effect that creates a trail behind a GameObject as it moves. Classic examples of this are a jet's afterburner, a car's exhaust, and the Tasmanian Devil's visual swoosh (dust cloud). The following Inspector panel screenshot illustrates the parameters that can be manipulated to customize a Trail Renderer:
