When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Difference
Now we'll work with the same point data file, arbitrary_indicator.csv. We want to plot all of the areas except those that are located inside Dhaka. This can be done very easily using the Difference functionality of QGIS. The steps for doing so are as follows:
- Similar to Clip, load BGD_adm3.shp (loading this is not required; again, this just adds context), then load dhaka.shp ;followed by the arbitrary_indicator.csv CSV file.
- Click on Vector, followed by Geoprocessing Tools, and then click on Difference:
- Select arbitrary_indicator for Input layer and select dhaka as Difference layer, as we want to remove this area for point data. ...
