When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Clipping
Now we have the locations of different areas in Bangladesh where measurements of some variable was taken. We want to plot only those areas that are located inside Dhaka. This can be done very easily using the Clip functionality of QGIS. The steps to do so are as follows:
- Load BGD_adm3.shp (loading this is not required; this just adds context), then load dhaka.shp followed by the arbitrary_indicator.csv file. In the Layers panel, ensure that. Our map display should look similar to this:
- Click on Vector, followed by Geoprocessing Tools, and then click on Clip:
- Select arbitrary_indicator for Input layer and select dhaka as
