What if you get a user number by mistake? 

We have, on occasion, seen instances where an Office 365 customer initiated a port without realizing there was a distinction between user and service numbers. This is unfortunate, but even though the documentation is now more complete than it once was, there is still so much of it that we think such errors are probably inevitable. 

In such a case, you will need to do a few things to minimize the damage done: 

1. Set up a temporary service number to use with your auto-attendant. 
2. Set up a voice calling plan with a fake user and assign the erroneous user number to it.
