Sync

If you've read Chapter 6, Administering SharePoint Online, you will have at least touched on the Sync functionality. If not, you're probably familiar with it from your own use of it. But just in case you're getting your first job on earth in Office 365 after having come straight off the mothership of a distant planet, Sync is a function in SharePoint and OneDrive that makes a copy of a OneDrive site, or a SharePoint library, on the user's hard drive.

There's a button in the user's console for OneDrive or SharePoint that lets them create a sync relationship. Once the user presses that button, they will be taken through a series of prompts to set up Sync on their machine. After that, the user will have a local copy of the OneDrive site ...
