The message trace tab

A user is complaining that they never got a very important email. Did it end up in their junk mail and they never noticed? Did your spam rules keep it from reaching them? Or perhaps the vendor who was supposed to send it misspelled their email address. To find this out, you'd use message trace:

You can set a time period for your trace—24 hours, 48 hours (the default), 7 days, or a custom amount. If you choose one of the default time periods, or a custom period of 7 days or less, you don't actually need to pick any other settings.
