Randomize

Synopsis

                  Randomize(number)

Seeds ColdFusion’s random number generator with the integer part of number. This allows the Rand( ) function to generate numbers with a higher degree of randomness. Note that the number returned by the Randomize( ) function isn’t random. The following example uses the Randomize( ) function to seed ColdFusion’s random number generator before creating random numbers with the Rand( ) function:

<cfset Randomize(GetTickCount( ))>

Here are 10 random numbers:<p>
<cfloop index="counter" from="1" to="10">
  <cfoutput>#Rand( )#<br></cfoutput>
</cfloop>
