The search textbox

When you click on the Reports tab, notice that the search box here has default text in the box Search Reports and more..., while in the Accounts tab, the search box changes to Search Accounts and more.... When opening a record or in the Home tab, the message would be "Search Salesforce". Does this mean you can search a report when only you are in the Reports tab? The answer is no. You can search a report from the search box from any tab, and not necessarily from the Reports tab.

When you type in the search box, Salesforce will auto-search, filter, and show the results. In the following screenshot, I typed sla; it will show all records with that keyword, including a report. Note that the icons are different between objects, ...
