Classify and certify component or service
To encourage and enable the reuse of component or service, it must be easy to find it, evaluate what it does and obtain a measure of how well it does it. The basis for this is providing the right information via a rich classification scheme, which gathers the relevant information that describes the component or service. The classification scheme must be uniform and therefore applicable to all types of component and service. The scheme should include the following:
functionality: what the component responsibilities are; the specification of the services that the component interface provides;
technology: component standards and platform, e.g. .NET, Enterprise Java;
distribution: distribution and deployment ...
