Chapter 9. Techniques

Various techniques are used in Select Perspective, many of which are common to all types of software development project. This chapter focuses on those techniques that are special to the component and service development approach as well as those common ones where new skills are needed. Every project does not need all the techniques outlined here. For agile development, a minimal set of techniques would be applied, but for a major enterprise-scale development many more techniques would be used.

Table 9.1 shows where each of the techniques is mainly used in the major workflows. Examples of the deliverables for many of the listed techniques can be found in the appended case study.
