Summary
The process for managing components acts as the pivot in the supply–manage– consume model. Component or service supply activities are the responsibility of component suppliers, whether they are internal or external to the organization. Certification, publication and maintenance activities are the responsibility of the component management team. Finding, evaluating and applying are the responsibilities of the component or service consumers.
Component and service management requires a clear reuse strategy and approach, and tools that automate the process such as publication, notification, and tracking of component or service reuse.
