Draft Agreements
An important power tool at work in my negotiation with the Suda-
nese government was a draft. A draft is a written proposal of the
agreement or approval that you are seeking to obtain from the
government with which you are negotiating.
Several years ago, while teaching a negotiation training pro-
gram, I kept asking participating African officials, ‘‘What’s the
