I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
PREFACE
When I was asked to put together a second edition of Project Management in the Real World, I wondered how much of the wisdom I had gathered for the first edition was out of date. Surely the shortcuts hadn’t changed that much in six years – good project management practice was still good project management practice. I was wrong.
In the last few years, lots of things have changed. A global recession forced businesses to rethink how they deliver more projects with fewer resources. Keeping ahead of the curve became more important. The job of a project manager morphed from someone who was paid to get things done to someone who contributed effectively to business strategy through delivery.
