THE FIRST THING to decide when shooting video is how to hold the camera: Vertically or horizontally?

For most uses, the iPhone is commonly held in a vertical position. The classic presentation of film and video, however, is in a horizontal orientation. Vertical video is more common these days, especially for formats such as Instagram Stories, and is often the default camera position for non-photographers (Figure 41.1).
