It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
47. LOOK AT THE IMAGE
BEFORE YOU START editing a photo, take a few moments to study it and ask yourself some basic questions about its appearance.
Overall, how does it look? Is it so dark that some details are hard to see? Or is it so bright that it is washed out? Are the highlights blown out to total white? What is the quality of the contrast (the difference between the bright and dark areas)? Is the contrast flat and dull, or hard and sharp? What about the color quality of the image?
