An animation technique that has grown in popularity since the turn of the Millennium has been Motion or Performance Capture. In many reality-based interactive games like military combat or martial arts, or generally wherever there is a need for more realistic human motion, an animator may choose to work with motion capture data from live actors (Fig. 12).
