Conclusion
The 1981 edition of Timing for Animation ended with a still from Peter Foldes’ early computer animation film Hunger (1974). Its images look crude by today’s standards, but it was a first step. John Halas was an early proponent of digital animation. Back then he wrote that “it (the computer) inevitably and eventually will become an added tool in the hands of animators.” This volume takes his prophesy up to the reality of our present world.
The challenge now is to preserve and advance the principles taught by John Halas and Harold Whitaker in order to pass them on to future generations.
