Other quadrupeds, like cows, are surprisingly similar in the timing of their walk to a horse. The order of the feet is usually the same and the movements of the back and the head follow the same pattern.
An elephant may take a second or perhaps a second and a half to make a complete stride, while a smaller animal such as a cat may take a complete stride in half a second or less, although these timings may vary greatly.
