The order in which the feet of a horse touch the ground is: back left, front left, back right, front right, back left, front left, back right, front right, etc.
A horse normally takes about a second to make one complete stride, that is, from “back left” to “back left.” If it is walking freely the feet touch the ground at equal intervals of time.
