3.3. Sniffed Data from VRRP Messages
This section displays some captured VRRP messages and interprets the values to give the reader a closer familiarity with VRRP messages. The source of our sniffer trace data discussed below is Janusis [1999]. Figure 3-4 displays a message dispatched by an owner/master.

The specific values of Figure 3-4 are explained in Table 3-3. Note that we italicize the VRRP-relevant fields of the IP datagram. We alternately boldface the message fields to make it easier to recognize them.
