4.1. VRRP State Machine
A good way of explaining a protocol is to describe it as a state machine. The state machine provides not only a basis for a clear understanding of the protocol but also a sound foundation for its implementation. We start our discussion of the VRRP state machine by examining the elements needed for its operations.
