Chapter 11. Future of VRRP
This chapter looks at problems not solved by VRRP and explores extensions to VRRP designed to solve them. Additionally, it describes some specialized implementations such as firewall and mobile IP, which can be made to piggyback on VRRP and thus provide redundancy for these applications. The chapter then briefly examines VRRP for IPv6 and concludes by looking into the future and exploring applications of VRRP in clustering and some other new techniques.
