The lives of countless disadvantaged children around the world have been bettered through Harry Leibowitz’s passion for helping others, a lifelong commitment shaped and refined in his years with Procter & Gamble (P&G). Although he arrived at the company with charitable effort an unquestioned part of his make-up, it was while he was there that he learned how to ask of others in a way that has multiplied giving and action almost immeasurably. The World of Children Awards he founded in 1998 has impacted the lives of more than 30 million children by funding innovative programs and, in telling their stories through the Nobel Prize-like honors bestowed, inspiring others to action, too.
