It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This command sets the next-hop address for an incoming packet if
there is no explicit route for the packet already. This command
should be used in conjunction with the ip policy route-map command. The IP address does not have to be an
address that is adjacent to the router.
