shutdown — interface
shutdown no shutdown
This command shuts down the interface: no packets will be routed to
it and all routing protocols will be notified that the interface is
unavailable. It is a common mistake for new users to configure the
interface and forget to do a no
shutdown.
Use the following sequence of commands to reset an interface:
Router(config)#interface serial0Router(config)#shutdownRouter(config)#no shutdown
