Description
This command allows you to specify the route dampening values for BGP. Dampening allows you to control “route flap,” which is routing instability that results from a route making repeated transitions.
-
half-life The time in minutes after which a penalty is decreased by half.
-
reuse If the penalty for a flapping route increases to this value, the route can be reused.
-
suppress When the penalty exceeds this limit, the route is suppressed.
-
max-suppress-time The maximum amount of time a route can be suppressed; this should be about four times the half-life.
-
route-mapmap A route map that controls which routes are selected for route dampening.
