I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Impact of Engagement
Over the last few years, we have been lucky to work with a number of great clients of all different shapes and sizes. While they are all special in some way, one in particular demonstrates how powerful employee engagement efforts can be. This client is not large, by any means, with approximately four hundred people, but they have been through a great deal. This organization, like so many others, has seen significant shifts in their industry; they have been impacted by a number of factors, including the economy, new leadership, and growing pains. They decided that engagement was important and that they needed to invest more energy into engaging their employees. See Figure 12.2 for their results.
