When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
If the users are constrained by functions to only be able to do things in a certain
way, they again feel that the business rules automation software is behaving like a
black box that they cannot control. This is a particularly devastating criticism for soft-
ware that is designed to provide users with the flexibility to write their own rules.
The only way to avoid it is to try to anticipate how users may want to override the
working of each function and make sure that this is built in. In reality, especially with
fixed deadlines, this can be a very difficult goal to meet, but it is essential for build-
ing a successful business rules engine.
