It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The screen in Figure 7.2 will have a code generation routine associated with it
that is specific to the Pay Pro-Rata rule type. However, the screen in Figure 7.3
handles calculations in general, and its code generation routine does not contain (or
require) any special intelligence to handle the Pay Pro-Rata rule type.
The approach of designing an interface that consists of rule types that are spe-
cific to the underlying business is possible for the kind of business rules engine
