So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Business rules engines inevitably require that users must be able to extend the data-
base by adding columns, as we shall see in later chapters. This means that there must
be a way to distinguish columns defined by users from those that come from a data
model produced by IT professionals. It is always possible that the data model can be
updated after users have defined new columns. If this is done there will be a need to
reimport data model data, and it is important not to lose any information about user-
