In 1966, Milton Glaser met Kevin Eggers, an Irish music entrepreneur who was just starting up the Poppy label. Glaser designed the company’s logo as well as all of its album covers and promotional materials. Poppy became Utopia, then Atlantic Deluxe, and ultimately Tomato Records, and Glaser continued his long and creatively satisfying relationship with the label. Tomato released the work of artists as distinguished and diverse as Bach, Dave Brubeck, Townes Van Zandt, John Cage, Philip Glass, Ray Charles, and Albert King.
