Issue – the RBD couldn't connect to cluster (500) error when connecting Ceph with Proxmox
Authentication failure is the most common cause for this error when Ceph RBD storage cannot connect to Proxmox. Proxmox requires a copy of the Ceph admin keyring to authenticate. The name of the keyring must match the storage ID assigned through the Proxmox GUI. Refer to Chapter 5, Installing and Configuring Ceph, for information on how to set up the Ceph cluster to be used as storage backend.
