It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The bwlimit option
The most common edit in vzdump.conf is to adjust the backup speed. This is usually done in the case of remotely stored backups and interface saturation if the backup interface is the same as that used for the VM production traffic. The value must be defined in kilobytes per second (KBps). For example, to limit backup to 200 MBps, make the following adjustment:
bwlimit: 200000
