Direct contact liquid cooling

Heat is removed directly from the heat source, such as the CPU and memory, using a cold plate and liquid coolant such as water or any other coolant agent. Since no equipment is immersed, this technology can be used with existing infrastructure with major modification, while still increasing density per node and reducing energy consumption. This is not a unique technology, as this type of liquid cooling solution had been in use for several years. Consumer class liquid cooling solutions use this off-the-shelf technology.
