Storage plays an important role for any virtual environment and deserves the same level of redundancy attention as the rest of the cluster. There is no point in implementing redundancy in all Proxmox host nodes, networks, and power supplies, then putting virtual disk images on a single NAS storage without any redundancy. If the single node storage fails, even though it is considered shared storage, all VMs stored on it will be completely unusable.
