ZFS

ZFS was originally developed by Sun Microsystems. ZFS storage is a combination of filesystem and LVM, providing high-capacity storage with important features, such as data protection, data compression, self-healing, and snapshots. ZFS has built-in software-defined RAID, which makes the use of hardware-based RAID unnecessary. A disk array with ZFS RAID can be migrated to a completely different node, and then entirely imported without rebuilding the entire array.
