Customer Segments

A customer is the ultimate possessor of your solution. She might have your solution on her computer or device, having paid for it or gotten it for free; or she might have bought or commissioned the solution for her staff to use. For the purposes of segmentation, let’s say that a customer is someone who, directly or indirectly, uses your solution to do some kind of work.

You are interested in the work that people need to do with your solution. For example, a customer might be using your solution all day to schedule the transportation of consumer goods from his company’s distribution center to retail stores.
