Scenarios
For each business event, there is a response: the business use case, or BUC. In this chapter, we will discuss recording the functionality of the BUC, and by doing so, discovering its requirements. Here, we’ll look at using scenarios to record this functionality. We looked at workshops earlier. A scenario is often used in workshops to capture the thoughts of the participants as you’re discussing the desired functionality for a BUC.
A scenario is a limited series of functional steps that are needed to complete the work of the BUC. They are written in plain text; they describe the business needs rather than the technological ones and can be understood by business stakeholders with no technical training.
