Requirements and Innovation

Not a lot of people think it is part of their job to be innovative. And yet, it is your (and your team’s) ability to produce fresh ideas that stands between your customer and obsolescence. Without innovation, any solution will be more or less the same as the one it’s replacing. New ideas are needed to keep ahead of your competitors, and to provide better solutions for your customers.

You, as a business analyst, have a responsibility here. You should be constantly coming up with new ideas and not just delivering what is asked for. Challenging the assumptions and the presumed solutions is part of delivering a successful, more valuable solution.
