Too many people think that coming up with good ideas and innovative solutions is someone else’s job. It’s not someone else’s; it’s yours. Every business analyst, product owner, developer, product manager, and business stakeholder must consider that innovation is a crucial part of their job. We are not here merely to build things the customer asked for, but to challenge, to provide alternatives, to come up with original ideas that are beyond—and better than—what the customer asked for. After all, if no innovation occurs, then any new solution will be much the same as whatever it replaces.
