Capturing analog video using Movie Maker is a little more complicated than using Movie Maker to capture DV, mainly because you may need to fine-tune certain input settings, such as the brightness or color of the incoming video.

In addition, while DV capture interfaces are relatively standard among different cameras and FireWire devices, analog capture devices and their software interfaces can be as different as snowflakes. So although Microsoft has attempted to present a standard approach for analog capture in Movie Maker, each capture device has unique elements, making it impossible to document the differences between the various devices.
