Customizing transitions in Movie Maker is exceeding easy, primarily because the only thing you can customize is duration. Of course, if you're really adventurous, Microsoft has provided documentation that allows you to create your own transitions, but programming is required. I've looked over the materials, and they seem more like a problem for a beginning class on programming than a practical way to extend Movie Maker's transition capabilities.
