Personal Pages

Earlier in this chapter we mentioned the concept of personal pages. A personal page is a way of granting limited page-creation capabilities to end users. End users wouldn’t normally have privileges to create their own pages, but with the popularity of personalizable Web pages like My Yahoo (http://my.yahoo.com/), personal pages was added as a feature to OracleAS Portal. With a personal page, a user can change the page to suit his or her interests.

In the section "OracleAS Portal Administration: The Services Portlet" earlier in this chapter, we noted the existence of a check box titled Create Personal Pages For New Users. After this box was checked, I created a new user named Oski2. If I then return to the OracleAS Portal Navigator, ...
